Our Youth Leadership class had their economic development session yesterday and toured different parts of the community that all have an impact on improving the quality of life and income for our community!
We started the day visiting one of our large industries, Trane Technologies. Here they toured the manufacturing floor and learned about all of the job opportunities that are involved in the facility. Next we toured the programs at Southeastern Technical College and learned how they train the workforce that our industries need. A class favorite stop was the Vidalia Regional Airport where they learned about the different businesses that use our airport and got to see a take off and flight by Derek Park, one of our co-chairs for the program and pilot. After lunch we toured the Vidalia Onion Museum and finished they day here at the Chamber with the Toombs County Development Authority learning how these organizations recruit people to our area for all kinds of interests.
Thank you to our program presenting sponsor, Southern Nuclear– Plant Hatch, and our session sponsors, Chick-fil-A Vidalia, Bishop-Durden Insurance, and the Toombs County Development Authority.
