Discount Workers’ Compensation Premiums – Businesses can save 7.5% on workers’ compensation premiums by becoming a Certified Drug-Free Workplace.  This is a program of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce and is implemented by the local Chamber.
Certified drug-free workplaces in Georgia receive a 7.5% discount on worker’s compensation premiums. To achieve drug-free certification, you must meet the following 5 criteria:

• Have a substance abuse policy.
  The Chamber will provide the policy which contains simple instructions for customizing to your specific needs.
• Conduct drug testing.
• Two hours of employee education per year.
  The Chamber provides a monthly Drugs Don’t Work newsletter to you at no charge. You simply make copies and insert in employee’s paychecks. This newsletter counts as 20 minutes of education time. By year-end you will have accumulated 120 minutes of education time, equivalent to 2 hours. You do not lose production time while educating your workers! NOTE: After the first year of certification, only one year of employee education is required.
• Two additional hours of supervisor training per year.
  In addition to the 2 hours of employee education, your supervisors require two more hours of education/year. The Chamber provides a monthly newsletter specifically for supervisors that meet all training requirements. NOTE: After the first year of certification, only one hour of supervisor training is required.
• Have an Employee Assistance Program or maintain a list of counseling and treatment centers.
  The Chamber provides you an up-to-date list of counseling and treatment centers in the area
