The Greater Vidalia® Chamber Board of Directors recently held their final meeting of the year at Elements in Lyons in conjunction with a Christmas social and dinner. They were joined by incoming Board of Directors; Greg McKenzie Jr., Rick Patel, Trent Williams (serving as advisor), and Jennifer Crutchfield (not pictured). This meeting took place to handle the normal business of the Chamber as well as to reflect on the 2023 year and look towards the priorities and responsibilities of 2024. The Greater Vidalia® Chamber is in business for businesses. The combined talents, passion, and expertise of the Board of Directors enables us to identify issues and creatively find solutions for the betterment
of the community.
Looking back at this year, the Chamber impacted a record number of businesses in that we have 536 current members in December of 2023. We saw a record number of starts and expansions in our business community with 22 ribbon cutting events and 3 groundbreaking ceremonies. We also kept over $50,000.00 in our community this year at over 80 of our participating members through the Community Bucks program.
2024 looks bright with our new and returning board members at the helm and our growing staff of 6 Chamber professionals. We have a newly revised and refreshed Public Policy Council as well as new community programs such as the Super Star Teacher and Try it Tuesdays programs and, new events and initiatives. We look forward to moving into the new Center for Rural Entrepreneurship in mid-2024 and are excited to see the businesses that start and grow through the “Center”.
2023 was a great year for our community and YOUR Chamber of Commerce. We send well wishes for our members for the new year!
