Entrepreneurs are our favorite people at the upcoming Greater Vidalia® Center for Rural Entrepreneurship (The Center) and when they get together, the room is filled with electricity!
Such was the case Thursday, August 4th when we held our second Entrepreneur Mixer in a vacant building in Lyons owned by Williams Development. Tommie and Stephanie Williams were our speakers and they addressed a crowd of almost 50 people on their journeys as artists, a school teacher, farming, property development, graphic design and publishing. Stephanie shared what she feels is important to know and do as a business owner and Tommie inspired us all on the importance of “creating something good”.
What we hope to gain from the mixers is an opportunity to marry dreamers and current small business owners with like-minded individuals, as well as those who may be interested in investing/partnering or mentoring. Our ultimate goal is to gain feedback from the community on what their needs are from The Center in the way of programming, support systems, and space. We would love for you to be a part of the future of business growth in our region! Please shoot us an email at anno@greatervidaliachamber.com if you have any questions or want us to keep you updated on events and happenings at The Center. Please mark your calendars for Thursday, November 2nd for our next mixer – location to be determined.
Entrepreneur Mixers are a program offered through the Cultivating Rural Entrepreneurship And Transforming Economies (C.R.E.A.T.E.) grant awarded to City of Lyons, City of Vidalia, Toombs County, Greater Vidalia® Chamber and Toombs County Development Authority. C.R.E.A.T.E. is funded by Georgia Power and National Main Street.
