Southeastern Technical College (STC), in conjunction with the Toombs County Development Authority and The Greater Vidalia® Chamber held an Employment Fair on the Vidalia campus of STC on June 23rd. The Employment Fair hosted over 60 business and industry members from Toombs and surrounding counties in an effort to help boost reemployment and economic recovery in our area. The event was considered a huge success with roughly 200 potential employees in attendance and some businesses even conducted interviews and made offers of employment on-site.
The Fair was the first of four projects to be implemented as a result of a Workforce Strategy study and initiative recently completed by the University of Georgia Carl Vinson Institute of Government and sponsored by Chicken of the Sea, DOT Foods, Georgia Power, Memorial Health Meadows Hospital, Southern Nuclear / Hatch Nuclear Plant, Toombs County Development Authority, and Trane.
